Director of Competitive Swimming/Head Coach

Pete brings a strong swimming background to our team. He was a four year college swimmer and record-holder at the University of Delaware where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Physical Education.

Entering his 11th season as Head Coach of SJAC Pete has coached swimmers at all levels, from beginning swimmers to swimmers at the Olympic level. Pete coached the Delaware Otters, Barclay Farms Swim Club, Deerbrook Swim Club and has been a guest coach and speaker for USA swimming camps. Pete has coached numerous Top 16 and All-American swimmers.


Platinum Group

National Team Head Coach/Platinum Group

Adam has been involved with Platinum Group for the last 4 years. He spent 2 years training with the group as a masters swimmer, was an assistant coach last year, and this year was promoted to the head coaching position. Adam has a wide range of experience as a swimmer and coach. He was a junior national qualifier and graduated from Lehigh University where he was a two-time league champion and school record-holder. Adam attended graduate school at Rider University and he is currently employed as a School Psychologist in the Gloucester Township School District. Adam also has been the head coach at the Sunnybrook Swim Club for the last 4 seasons. The team currently has over 190 swimmers and consistently places in the top 10 at the Tri-County Championships.

Adam brings an intense, yet relaxed style of coaching to the Platinum Group. He takes pride in creating pool and dryland workouts that are unique and will not only get our swimmers in shape, but teach them "how” to race. He strives to help each team member realize their potential, both as athletes and as individuals.

CR Orth

This is Coach C. R.’s second year with SJAC. He brings a lifetime of swimming experience and passion for the sport to our team.

C. R. grew up as a Y swimmer in Newark, Delaware where he became a Junior National Qualifier and Mid-Atlantic record holder. Following high school, he attended Princeton University, was a four-year Varsity swimmer and Captain during his senior year. At Princeton, he received multiple All-Conference awards, and was a Senior National qualifier.

Following college, C. R. earned his M.D. at the Penn State University College of Medicine and completed his Urology residency at the University of Maryland. He also earned an M.B.A. from New York University. C. R. is a practicing Urologist with Delaware Valley Urology and is the proud father of two girls.

Mary Catherine Dain

Mary grew up swimming in South Jersey for Ramblewood, Jersey Wahoos, and Holy Cross. She was a high school state finalist and went on to swim for D III Denison University. As a butterfly specialist, she was a 4 year NCAA qualifier and 15 time All-American. Throughout college she coached at Ramblewood and taught private lessons to age-group swimmers. After graduating from Denison with a BA in Communications and Sports Management, Mary spent two years as a graduate assistant coach at Trinity College (CT) where she received her Masters in English. She was most recently an assistant coach for Bucknell University. In that role, she worked with Patriot League Champions, multiple varsity record holders, and All League honorees.

Andrew Girman

Coach Andrew joins the SJAC YMCA team staff for his 6th year, heading up operations at the Parkside Boys & Girls Club practice location.

Andrew is an alum of TCNJ and Temple Univ. for his undergrad and graduate school experiences, respectively. Graduating as swim team captain, holder of team best swimming marks in the 200 Free and 500 Free, and with TCNJ team and All-American academic and athletic leadership honors, Andrew continued his tenure at TCNJ as a part-time Assistant Coach. In addition to leading the Deerbrook Tri-county team for 5 years, Andrew's prior coaching experience also includes service as an Assistant Swim Coach at Wedgewood, Haddonfield Memorial & Sacred Heart High School, and Franklin and Marshall College. He has also served on the staff of the Total Performance and Nike Swimming Camps. Andrew is ASCA (American Swim Coaches Association) Level 3 certified. He currently is a Math Teacher at St. Mary of the Lakes School in Medford, NJ.

Coach Tricia has been coaching with SJAC for the last 5 years. She graduated from LaSalle University in 2005 with a Bachelor's Degree in American Studies and a Minor in Elementary Education/Special Education.
 
Coach Tricia began swimming for Jersey Wahoos at the age of 9 and continued swimming there until 2001. She swam for Ramblewood Swim Club in the Suburban league and coached at Ramblewood from 2000 to 2005. She was a four year Varsity swimmer and captain at Holy Cross High School. She also played 2 years of Varsity Lacrosse and was Captain her senior year.

Gold Group

Head Coach/Gold Group

Matt is joining our coaching staff, coming from many years of competitive swimming and coaching. Graduating from Rowan University in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Law & Justice, Matt was a 4 year varsity swimmer and co-captain, where he was awarded the Walter Halt Leadership award in 2003. Matt's other coaching & swimming experience has also come from Tri-County swimming and USA swimming. Matt swam for Pomona of Tri-County for 12 years, and was part of Wahoos swimming for 8 years as well. After moving on to college, he was assistant coach under Tricia Hafner of the Pomona Dolphins for three seasons, and most recently under Bill Sepich of the Hurricanes for a season. He is currently employed at Glen Mills Schools in Concordville, PA as a Teacher and Counselor, and was formerly assistant coach of their swim team for three seasons.

Brent Raue

Brent grew up swimming competitively with Rockville Montgomery Swim Club in Maryland and was an NCAA Division III All-American at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He was a coach for a local swim club in Silver Spring MD throughout college, and he was head swim coach at Moorestown Friends School during the 2003-2004 swim season. He is currently  Senior Director of a global software quality assurance organization at CA Technologies.  Brent met his wife on the CUA swim team and they have three children.

Head Coach/Silver Group

RT is entering his second season coaching with SJAC. He brings a strong understanding and commitment to the SJAC philosophy, having past experience as a national swimmer and coach under Pete Holcroft.
 

In May 2008, RT graduated from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education. He was a four-year varsity swimmer, multiple All-Conference award winner and a quad captain his senior year. He served two years as a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and also represented TCNJ his senior year as the school representative for the New Jersey Athletic Conference.

He has coached all levels of swimming ranging from beginners to National qualifiers. Other coaching experiences prior to SJAC have included Tri-County swimming and USA Swimming. He served as an assistant coach at Barclay Farm Swim Club under Pete Holcroft and Express Swimming, located in Princeton, NJ, as a head age group coach for the pre-senior group and also age group 1 & 2.

For the past six years RT has been the Head Coach at Haddon Glen Swim Club located in Haddon Heights, NJ. RT has taken Haddon Glen from 100 swimmers to over 235 total swimmers for the third consecutive year. Along with two division championships, the team has repeatedly placed in the top fifteen teams at Tri-County Championships during his coaching tenure.

Coach K. has has been coaching with the bronze group at SJAC for 4 years. For 6 years she has been the Head Coach of the Haddontowne Swim team in the summer Tri-County league.That team has grown threefold and has had many successes. Coach has attended several national coaches conferences and attained level III status with the American Swim Coaches Association. She has been involved in competitive swimming for a long time and is passionate about instilling a love of swimming as a lifetime sport. Her technique driven practices reflect her motto of "swim, smile and succeed". Jean is a mother of 4 swimmers and also has a masters in pediatric nursing.

This is Kelly's first year coaching the bronze group.  Kelly swam for 12 years at Kingston Estates Swim Club.  She also swam for the Burlington County YMCA Hurricanes for 8 years.  A four year varsity swimmer at Cherry Hill West, Kelly also swam 2 years at Millersville University of Pennsylvania.  Kelly graduated, with honors, in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.  She is currently an assistant coach at Sunnybrook Swim Club and teaches 6th grade at Camden's Promise Charter School.
