How to Communicate
Methods of Communication
The size of our team alone, makes the exchange of information crucial to running a smooth, efficient and enjoyable swim season. Listed below are the means available for all of us to communicate with each other.
SJAC Team Website
The majority of our communication will be done via our SJAC website. Please visit the site ( www.sjacswimming.com) to keep up to date with all the latest team information.
Swimmers Mailbox
A plastic file container filled with individual file folders for each swimmer's family. This is a convenient and expedient way for the parent committee and coaches to get information out to our swimmers and their parents. It is also used to distribute the ribbons and medals from swim meets. Swimmers are required to check their mailbox after every practice.
Mailings
Mailings are kept to a minimum to defer expenses; however, from time to time, the YMCA will send out mailings to all swim team families regarding important issues or upcoming events. The parent committee may also mail out important letters and flyers.
Contacting the Coaches or Parent Committee Members
Parent Committee phone numbers and e-mail addresses are contained in this handbook and the coaching staff is usually available between practice sessions. Please refrain from approaching our coaches during practices or at meets, their attention is devoted to our swimmers at that time. We encourage you to email the coaches with regard to any questions or concerns. This is important that the lines of communication remain open.
Instant Text Messages
Text alerts are used to communicate urgent messages from the coaches to your cell phone. Examples include last minute changes in practice locations or updated meet start times. To subscribe to the SJAC text alert system, click here
